Just over four months following Oscar Mayer's revelation that its famed Wienermobile would now be called the "Frankmobile," the firm has decided to revert to the original name.
"It was a franktastic summer celebrating our 100% beef franks with the Frankmobile from coast to coast,"said Kelsey Rice, an associate director at Oscar Mayer, in a statement to Fox News Digital.
But, she noted, ""like many of you," she added, "we miss our original icon. Kicking off last week, we’re welcoming back the Wienermobile."
Oscar Mayer says the Frankmobile is toast.

In May, the Chicago-based company, which has been there since 2015, declared that after 87 years, the Wienermobile would undergo its first name change.
"The Wienermobile is a beloved American icon that has been sparking smiles and driving craveability for our iconic delicious wieners for nearly 100 years," said Stephanie Vance, an associate brand manager at Oscar Mayer, in a May 17 press release.
"This summer, it’s time to highlight another fan-favorite: our delicious 100% beef franks," she stated.
When the name was first altered, an Oscar Mayer representative informed FOX Business that the brand was keen to find out if the new name "meets the expectations of its fans."
