The liberal media celebrated Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s decision to resign from Congress, proof that the moment she broke with President Trump, she immediately became their hero. Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel praised her dramatic exit on his monologue, mocking her as she finally threw in the towel.
Kimmel compared her resignation to a musical film, saying, “people love the story of a witch turning over a new leaf, which reminds me, Marjorie Taylor Greene resigned from Congress on Friday.” He couldn't resist a personal jab, adding, “There’s going to be one less puddle of sweat on the floor mat of the congressional gym.”
Kimmel gleefully cheered the end of her loyalty to the America First movement. He said, “Marjorie Taylor Greene, yet another Trump superfan, learns that loyalty to him goes only one way.”
Greene, who repeatedly clashed with President Trump over the release of the Epstein files, announced her resignation in a dramatic video. She complained that she was done defending the President, saying, “I refuse to be a battered wife, hoping it all goes away and gets better.”
She said that “there is no plan to save the world or a 4D chess game being played,” echoing the complaints of anti-Trump Republicans. Kimmel, meanwhile, feigned shock at her resignation.
Kimmel also mocked her for having a Christmas tree in the background of her video before Thanksgiving. He then embraced her anti-Trump talking points.
He praised her decision to attack her party, saying she finally understood that Congress is beholden to the wealthy and has no plan for healthcare. Kimmel said, “Welcome to reality, Marj.”
Kimmel joked about the end of her controversial political career. He said, “Congress’ loss is ‘Love Island’s’ gain, and I wish her a lot of luck. Marjorie is out and Mamdani is in!”
The White House spokesperson, however, refused to waste time on the liberal host’s monologue. She said, “Reacting to Kimmel’s show would require me to waste my time watching it, and like many Americans who choose not to watch it, I have more entertaining things to do — like watch paint dry.”
