Several Minneapolis City Council members have been assigned private security details that cost the city $4,500 a day in taxpayer dollars. Keep in mind that these are the city council members who were calling to defund the police.
According to a report from Fox News, there has been $63,000 spent on private security over the last three weeks by the city.
“The names of the people getting security details are not public,” a city spokesperson told Fox News Saturday.
The City of Minneapolis is spending $4,500 a day for private security for three city council members.

The death of George Floyd has caused some knee jerk reactions. Tom Cotton pointed out the amount of crime in Minneapolis and wonders who the people who need help would call.

So far in June, there have been 9 homicides, 34 rapes, and 445 violent crimes in Minneapolis.

The Minneapolis City Council is awfully hypocritical to defund the police while they have their own personal security detail. What about your everyday people who can't afford something like that?
