The jersey worn by Michael Jordan during his last title series during game 1 of the NBA Finals sold for a record $10.1 million Thursday, Sotheby's said.
The jersey, which is the classic red Bulls #23 jersey, sold for the highest amount of any game-worn jersey ever.

Jordan's jersey beat the previous record of Diego Maradona's "Hand of God" jersey. The previous record for an NBA jersey was $3.7 million for an autographed game-worn jersey of Kobe Bryant, which went for $3.7 million.
Brahm Wachter, head of streetwear and modern collectibles at Sotheby's, said in a statement that the sale "solidifies Michael Jordan as the undisputed GOAT, proving his name and incomparable legacy is just as relevant as it was nearly 25 years ago."
Jordan retired from the NBA for good in 2003 and now owns the Charlotte Hornets and still owns millions of dollars a year in shoe royalties.
