Melania Trump Honors Former First Lady in a Special Way

First Lady Melania Trump hosted a White House ceremony this week to unveil a new commemorative stamp honoring former First Lady Barbara Bush.

The event, held in the East Room on Thursday, featured several special guests, including Barbara Bush’s daughter, Doro Bush Koch; Alice Yates, CEO of the George & Barbara Bush Foundation; and Judy de Torok, vice president of corporate affairs at the U.S. Postal Service.

“Barbara’s unwavering conviction, dignity and deep loyalty to her loved ones have left an indelible mark on our hearts and history,” Mrs. Trump said during her remarks.

Barbara Bush, the wife of President George H. W. Bush, served as First Lady from 1989 to 1993 and previously as Second Lady from 1981 to 1989. She was widely admired for her commitment to literacy, family values, and public service.

The ceremony brought together members of the Bush family, friends, and former staffers from the Bush White House to honor her memory.
