A woman named Kirsten is claiming her private information was compromised at the airport.
She shared on TikTok that a stranger texted her while she was waiting for a flight.
“I’m at the airport and the creepiest thing just happened,” she explained. “I’m sitting on my layover and I get this text.”
Kirsten walked through the airport, sharing the message she received. The text was from a man named Nate, who admitted he got her number from her luggage tag.
“Hi Kristen, I saw you and thought you were so beautiful,” the message read. He added that it wasn’t “as weird as it seems” and asked for a chance.
Kirsten quickly corrected him, pointing out her name is "Kirsten" not "Kristen." She also said Nate should have approached her in person if he really wanted to talk.
She was extra concerned because her address was also visible on the luggage tag. Now, the stranger could know where she lives.
In her TikTok, Kirsten gave a travel safety tip: turn your luggage tag inside out to keep personal information hidden.
She ended her video with a warning: "PSA to all creepers: do better."
After a viewer suggested she get a luggage tag cover, Kirsten replied that she ordered new ones immediately.
Other TikTok users chimed in with their own safety tips, like using a work address or writing the trip destination instead of a home address.
