Bill Maher didn’t hold back on Monday.
The HBO host took aim at the co-hosts of "The View" during his "Club Random" podcast. Speaking with actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore, he questioned whether the women on the ABC panel are the best voices for women right now.
"And I like everyone, but I don’t know if they’re really at this moment the best advertisement for women," he told her.
Barrymore had invited Maher to visit New York City and appear on her show. That sparked Maher to talk about his friendships with several "View" co-hosts. He admitted he likes them personally but said the show can be overwhelming.
"I’m friendly with some of the ladies on ‘The View’ and I love them but, like, that show’s a lot."
Barrymore mentioned that Joy Behar had been a guest on her show recently. Maher replied, "I love Joy." But he made clear that while he likes everyone on the panel, he’s not always a fan of their politics.
"They say some things that are just like, not helpful, say to elections."
Maher last appeared on "The View" in May 2024. He clashed with co-host Sunny Hostin over Israel’s war with Hamas.
Hostin accused Israel of killing innocent Palestinian civilians and children. Maher pushed back. He said he values innocent lives but argued Israel has the right to defend itself.
"That's what happens in a war. Here's a way to stop that, stop attacking Israel," he said.
Maher also called out Whoopi Goldberg in recent weeks. She claimed in July that Black people in America are oppressed the same way women are in Iran.
"That is something that, again, is infuriating about the far left, I would say. Call them whatever they wanted. Not the woke, the stupid woke, like Whoopi Goldberg, love her, but when she said a couple weeks ago that being Black was the same as being a woman in Iran, it’s like, yeah, in 1920, but not today," Maher said on his podcast with guest Brian Tyler Cohen.
