Kid Rock sparked backlash and headlines Thursday night after claiming that America’s declining birth rate is the result of "ugly," "broke," and "deranged" liberal women who suffer from "Trump Derangement Syndrome."
During an appearance on Jesse Watters Primetime, the 54-year-old musician criticized the appearance of left-wing protesters in video clips aired by Fox News, calling them unattractive and undesirable.
“I was just watching your clips, and you know, we have this low birth rate in America, and it all made sense,” he told Watters. “Who's gonna sleep with these ugly a**, broke, crazy, deranged, TDS liberal women?”
Kid Rock, who had a brief marriage to Pamela Anderson, went on to generalize that liberal protests are filled with “a bunch of women that no guy wants to sleep with and a bunch of dudes that want to sleep with each other.”
Watters opened the door to the controversial remarks by mocking the protesters’ physical appearance, asking the singer if he sees “blue hair” or “female armpit hair” at his own concerts.
The U.S. birth rate has declined steadily since the mid-2000s, with the CDC reporting a continuing drop in fertility. President Donald Trump has pushed for pro-natalist policies, suggesting the government should support families in having more children.
Kid Rock’s remarks are the latest in a series of inflammatory political takes that have become a hallmark of his public persona.
