Kevin Costner's Ex Breaks Down in Tears After Hearing Accusations From the Actor

Kevin Costner's legal representatives have stated that his estranged wife is on a "relentless ‘jihad’" against the actor's reputation as she pushes for an increased monthly child support sum.

Christine Baumgartner submitted an appeal to a judge on Thursday to revise the monthly child custody payment amidst her ongoing divorce proceedings from the "Yellowstone" star. On the other side, Costner's attorney reproached Baumgartner for engendering "hostility" between them in the lead-up to a "wholly unnecessary" judicial session.

"Christine's relentless ‘jihad’ against Kevin's character brings an unwarranted level of hostility to these proceedings, seemingly designed to sidetrack from the core issue at play," was the statement from Costner's legal team, as sourced from Fox News Digital.

During Thursday's initial remarks, John Rydell, the attorney for Baumgartner, highlighted that the handbag designer is seeking "$161,592" in monthly child support, emphasizing that Costner, being a renowned film actor, has the capacity to meet this demand. Rydell projected that, even after committing to this enhanced amount, the earnings of the "Yellowstone" actor would remain at an approximate "$731,000" post-tax every month. Baumgartner's representatives were adamant about adhering to California law.

Emotions ran high on the witness stand when Baumgartner teared up. Her attorney contended that securing a rental residence of similar worth to the vacation properties the pair once shared — notably the Aspen residence cherished by Baumgartner — would be a challenge for her.

In recent court papers, Costner's attorneys pointed out that Baumgartner had received $20,000 from a "boyfriend." Yet, in her testimony on Thursday, Baumgartner clarified she got the $20,000 from Joshua Connor.

Testifying, Baumgartner described Connor as a close associate of "7 or 8 years." Probed by Rydell, "Is he your boyfriend?" she responded with a simple, "No."

She reminisced about a March trip to Hawaii accompanied by Connor, his child, and a group of pals. Costner chose not to attend because "he wanted to do a speech with a hunting club." The expenses for the vacation residence where both families lodged were borne by the Costners.

In a subsequent trip to Hawaii in July, Baumgartner was again accompanied by a circle of friends and their kids, which included Connor and his daughter, who shares a "best friends" bond with Grace Costner, aged 13. On this occasion, Connor "paid for the house."

Discussing allegations that Connor "gave Christine money," Baumgartner remarked, "I can’t recall if it was prior or post (the trips to Hawaii in March or July)." She elaborated, "He gave me $20,000."

From this sum, Baumgartner, known for her purse designs, shared, "I gave $10,000 to my mother." This admission led her to become visibly distressed during her testimony. "She was apprehensive about her residence," Baumgartner added.

In a previous July hearing, Baumgartner, aged 49, secured $129,755 monthly for their trio of kids. This followed her initial request for $248,000 each month, while Costner, 68, had proposed $51,000.

She sought an updated support sum of $175,057, backdated to the start of July, as per documents sourced by Fox News Digital.

In May, after an 18-year marital bond, Christine initiated divorce proceedings against the "Fields of Dreams" actor, listing "irreconcilable differences" as the cause.
