Keith Olbermann Triggered by 'Trump Celebration,' Calls for MLB to 'Confiscate' Franchise

The St. Louis Cardinals stirred social media with a home run celebration seemingly in homage to former President Trump.

Cardinals designated hitter Alec Burleson rounded the bases after a home run against the Atlanta Braves. He and his teammates put one hand over their right ears and raised a fist.

Speculation arose that it was a tribute to Trump, injured in an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally. But veteran Matt Carpenter denied this, telling the St. Louis Post-Dispatch it was "definitely not a political statement."

Keith Olbermann demanded Major League Baseball "ban" the players, "confiscate" the franchise, and "implode" Busch Stadium.

"Attn @mlb ban these guys from baseball for life, confiscate the @Cardinals franchise, and implode the stadium," Olbermann wrote on X, calling the players "Trump Nazis" and urging them to "stick to sports."

"America has had enough of this s---," he added.

Carpenter explained the celebration was a nod to Burleson’s college days when he was a rapper nicknamed Biscuit. The hand over the ear symbolized invisible headphones.

Olbermann didn't comment on Tampa Bay Rays infielder Taylor Walls, who, after a double against the New York Yankees, raised a fist and yelled "fight, fight."
