White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre faced a tense exchange with Fox News' Peter Doocy during Wednesday's briefing.
Doocy questioned Jean-Pierre about Biden's cognitive decline after he dropped out of the 2024 race on Sunday.
"It seems people in this White House knew Biden was slipping and hid it from the American people," Doocy said. "Who ordered the cover-up?"
Jean-Pierre started to respond, but Doocy interrupted her.
"First of all, there's been no cover-up," she said firmly. "I want to be clear about that."
Doocy interrupted again, leading to a brief back-and-forth. Jean-Pierre reiterated there was no cover-up and urged Doocy to listen to Biden's "incredibly powerful" address from the Oval Office.
At the start of their exchange, Doocy asked how Jean-Pierre was handling the recent news cycle.
"How are you doing with all of this?" he asked.
"You care about how I feel?" Jean-Pierre laughed.
"Are you going to stick around for a potential President Harris administration?" Doocy pressed.
"Oh, my goodness. Can I just get through today?" she responded.
Doocy ended by asking if any Democratic officials' betrayal of Biden surprised her.
Jean-Pierre replied curtly, "I don't have anything else to say."
