Former President Donald Trump said that former first lady Melania Trump has not been seen much lately.
Melania chose to miss the New Year's Eve party at Mar-a-Lago to be with her ill mother, Amalija Knavs. Trump shared this information in a video on Twitter.
“Melania, great first lady. So popular, and people love her. She’s right now in the hospital with her mother. Her mother, Amalija, is very ill. But hopefully she’ll be recovering,” Trump said while speaking on steak about Melania's absence.
The former president mentioned that he visited the Miami hospital where Melania's mother is being treated. He praised the hospital as very good. He told the people there, who Melania knows well, that she sends her love.
“Hopefully, they’ll be ok. But it’s a tough one, a very tough one,” Trump said.
Melania Trump was not in the Trump family Christmas card because she was with her sick mother. Someone close to her told Page Six this. Another person told Fox News that Melania is very dedicated to her family, so it's not surprising she was with her mother on Christmas.
On December 15, Melania was at a ceremony at the National Archives. She was there to welcome and congratulate new American citizens.
