Iran Doubles Down on Proposal to End War, Trump Refuses to Budge on Key Component

Iran's Foreign Ministry defended its latest peace proposal on Monday after facing sharp criticism from President Donald Trump. The regime claims it is not asking for concessions from the United States despite demanding an end to a major naval blockade.

The latest plan from Tehran specifically calls for the U.S. to end its blockade of Iranian ports and drop current economic sanctions. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei pushed back against the White House during a press briefing on Monday.

“We did not demand any concessions — the only thing we demanded was Iran’s legitimate rights,” Baghaei said. He added that "the American side still insists on its one-sided views and unreasonable demands."

President Trump has remained firm that any potential peace deal must include strict provisions for the safety of the world. The administration is demanding that Tehran limit its nuclear program and remove all enriched uranium from the country before any sanctions are lifted.
