Just weeks prior to the November 3 presidential election, thousands of New Jersey voters have received the wrong mail-in ballots. Yet this is supposed to be a "safe" and "secure" way to vote? Give me a break.
Out of 28,151 ballots, 6,867of them listed the wrong congressional district. That is nearly 25 percent of the voters in Teaneck, New Jersey.
County Clerk John Hogan assured voters that they will receive the correct ballot soon. However, if this is such a great system, it wouldn't have ever happened in the first place.
NorthJersey reported:
Hogan said the problem occurred at a private mailing company. The county contracts with a private company that prints the ballots, and that company contracts with a mailing company to stuff the envelopes and mail them out.
Teaneck, which has roughly 40,000 people and about 28,000 voters, is split into two congressional districts, the 5th and the 9th. 1,325 5th District voters received ballots with the 9th District race on it and a similar problem affected roughly 5,542 9th District ballots, Hogan said.
The Bergen County Board of Elections is allegedly aware of which voters received the wrong ballots and will be voiding those in case of the voter sending in the correct ballot. However, if they only send in the incorrect ballot, then that is the one that will be counted, minus the incorrect congressional district.
Sounds like a giant mess to me that can be avoided by voting in person.
