Comedian Tim Allen is criticizing lawmakers who recently attended King Charles III’s speech before Congress. He blasted the politicians for giving a royal welcome while actively participating in the recent No Kings protests against President Donald Trump. Allen took to social media to mock the blatant irony following the historic address on Tuesday.
"Would have been funny to see the facial reactions of an actual King with a no Kings parade yelling at him," Allen wrote on X. The popular actor's post quickly racked up over 75,000 views on the platform. Many commenters agreed and pointed out the obvious hypocrisy of the situation.
"The party chanting ‘no kings’ was clamoring to stand in ovation of a real King," one user wrote. Another user added, "The democrats give an actual king a standing ovation. The irony."
Republican Representative Greg Steube also weighed in on the bizarre spectacle. "I was on my way to hear an actual King speak… Funny how the ‘No Kings’ crowd is nowhere to be found. Guess the outrage depends on who’s talking?" Steube posted.
The official White House account even joined in on the online trolling. The administration posted a photo of Trump and King Charles together with the caption reading, "TWO KINGS."
Allen recently made headlines earlier this year after detailing his long journey reading the Bible. "Humbled, enlightened and amazed at what I read and what I learned. I will rest and meditate on so much. I will begin it again," Allen wrote.
The widespread No Kings protests gained national attention earlier this year. Millions of demonstrators marched across the country on March 28 to oppose the current administration. The progressive movement argues Trump has acted like a king regarding his strict immigration agenda.
Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar was among the Democrats who attended the royal address and took photos. Social media users quickly noted that Omar was a featured speaker at a major protest rally at the Minnesota State Capitol just weeks earlier.
President Trump has repeatedly denied the progressive allegations regarding his executive authority. He addressed the ongoing controversy during a recent interview on 60 Minutes. "I'm not a king. What I am, if I was a king, I wouldn't be dealing with you," Trump told reporter Norah O’Donnell just days before the royal visit.
