Pharrell Williams is frustrated with celebrity endorsements in politics. In a new interview, he shared how it annoys him to see famous people telling others how to vote.
"I don’t do politics," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "It bothers me when celebrities act like experts on voting."
Recently, Taylor Swift made headlines by endorsing Kamala Harris. Her support came just after Harris debated former President Trump.
When asked if he’d let politicians use his music, Pharrell had a strong opinion. "There are celebrities I respect, but not all of them. Sometimes I think, 'Shut up. No one asked you.'"
He added that he prefers staying out of it. “I care about my people and the country, but I focus on action, not talk."
His comments come as Trump’s campaign faces lawsuits from musicians. The White Stripes recently sued after their song was used in a campaign video.
Trump’s team played "Seven Nation Army" in a video of him heading to a rally. The band called it "flagrant misappropriation" and filed a lawsuit.
Other artists like Mick Jagger, Sia, and Sheryl Crow have also fought against their music being used by the Trump campaign.
