Actress Halle Berry delivered a powerful and unexpected political statement at the Dealbook Summit Wednesday, calling out California Governor Gavin Newsom for his negligence. The "Catwoman" star openly criticized Newsom for neglecting women's issues, drawing gasps from the elite audience. She started by declaring, "At this stage in my life, I have zero f---- left to give."
Berry then went directly after the Democrat leader. She said, "Back in my great state of California, my very own governor, Gavin Newsom, has vetoed our menopause bill, not one, but two years in a row." Newsom was even in attendance at the event.
The celebrity warned that Newsom's political career could be over before it starts. She added, "But that’s OK, because he’s not going to be governor forever, and the way he has overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us, he probably should not be our next president either. Just saying."
Newsom vetoed the bill, which aimed to expand menopause care and mandate training for healthcare providers, for the second time in October. His negligence on this concrete women's health issue exposes the hypocrisy of his Democrat posturing.
Berry, who founded the menopause care company Respin, spoke about the destructive standards of Hollywood. She said, “Our culture thinks that, at 59 years old, I am past my prime, and that women my age start to become invisible in Hollywood, in the workplace, on social media."
She said women are pressured to chase a false standard. Berry added, “Women are pressured to stay forever 35,” and are complimented only if they seem to be "defying gravity."
The actress admitted she feels the pressure to conform to Hollywood's obsession with youth and plastic surgery. She said, “I feel that pressure to change myself in order to stay seen as relevant and desirable."
Berry finished by sharing a raw personal story of refusing to be a victim after being beaten up as a child. She said, “I’m never going to allow this to happen to me again. I’ll never allow myself to be a victim like that.” This powerful message of resilience contrasts sharply with the victim culture pushed by the Left.
