Goodbye, California: Another Massive Company Leaves California for Texas

Chevron is selling its global headquarters in California and heading for Texas, according to a Wall Street Journal article.

The oil company is leaving 92 acres of offices behind in San Ramon, California. Chevron follows the lead of other massive companies like Tesla and American Airlines as they head to Texas.

“The current real estate market provides the opportunity to right-size our office space to meet the requirements of our headquarters-based employee population,” a Chevron spokesperson told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Chevron will remain headquartered in California, where the company has a 140-year history and operations and partnerships throughout the state.”

Chevron will move to a much smaller office space to accommodate their dwindling number of employees remaining in California.

The number of Chevron operations happening in California has been dwindling since 2019. The WSJ report claims that some of Chevron's executives have been considering a move to Texas for a while now.
