Fox News has named Emily Compagno the newest permanent co-host of “The Five.” Compagno will officially take her seat at the table on Sept. 8, joining the network’s highest-rated cable news program.
Compagno will appear alongside longtime hosts Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and Jesse Watters. Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov will continue to rotate in the program’s liberal seat.
The move fills the permanent conservative seat once held by Jeanine Pirro. Pirro left “The Five” in May 2025 after President Donald Trump appointed her as interim U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia.

“Fifteen years later, ‘The Five’ remains a powerhouse and appointment viewing for millions of Americans,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said. “Emily is a highly accomplished host whose energy and talent have made her a standout across FOX News Media, and we are thrilled to officially welcome her to the show.”
Compagno said the opportunity is an honor. “I couldn’t be more honored to join ‘The Five,’ a team I have long admired and have been fortunate to work alongside over the years,” she said.
“Having an official seat at the table on what I truly believe is the most fun show on television is an incredible privilege,” Compagno added. “I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started.”
As part of the shift, Compagno will leave “Outnumbered,” where she has served as a co-host since 2021. Fox News says a rotation of network personalities will fill her place until the channel announces a permanent replacement.
Compagno joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018. Before her career in television, she practiced criminal defense and civil litigation law, worked as a federal managing attorney and Acting Director at the Social Security Administration, and served as a judicial extern for the late Judge John T. Noonan on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
She also served as captain of the Oakland Raiders cheerleading squad and represented the NFL abroad as an ambassador. In 2024, she published the New York Times bestseller “Under His Wings” through Fox News Books.
“The Five” celebrated its 15th anniversary last month and remains the most-watched program in cable news. The show averaged 3.6 million viewers in the second quarter of 2026, including 322,000 adults ages 25 to 54, according to Fox News.
