It has been reported the NFL will play the "Black National Anthem" before opening week games and is considering putting the names of police brutality victims on the helmets or jerseys of players. Former NFL star Burgess Owens is not happy about this.
The NFL has dove headfirst back into the realms of social justice once again. The song “Lift Ev’ry Voice and Sing” will be played either on a recording or performed live proper to the National Anthem during week 1 of the NFL season.
“These moves are seen as part of the league’s collaborative work with its players to raise awareness of systemic racism and police brutality,” CBS Sports reported.
You know, because people are tuning in to hear about social issues, not watch football, right?

Burgess Owens, a Super Bowl champion, took on the NFL for their decision to play a "Black National Anthem" and even called it segregation.
“There is no ‘black national anthem,'” Owens tweeted. “Why does it feel like the country is trying to segregate again sometimes?”

Owens, along with many others, plans to turn his back on the NFL if they are up to their old tricks with the kneeling and making Colin Kaepernick a part of the storyline.
“If [NFL Commissioner Roger] Goodell allows Kaepernick to come back, if they allow players to kneel during the national anthem, I’m willing to not watch the game,” Owens told Sports Illustrated.
The NFL is setting themselves up for a catastrophic failure. Imagine the moment when the players stand with their hand over their heart for the "Black National Anthem" and then take a knee for the regular National Anthem.
This moment is almost undoubtedly coming.
