Danica Patrick, former NASCAR star, has called out Vice President Kamala Harris. She criticized Harris for not disclosing her vote on a significant California ballot measure.
Proposition 36 aims to make shoplifting a felony for repeat offenders. It also increases penalties for certain drug charges. Additionally, it allows judges to mandate treatment for individuals with multiple drug offenses.
Some Democratic leaders and social justice groups opposed the measure. They argue it would disproportionately impact low-income individuals and those struggling with addiction.
Harris chose to remain silent on her vote. "I am not going to talk about the vote on that," she stated. "It’s the Sunday before the election, and I don’t intend to create an endorsement one way or another."
Patrick voiced her disappointment on X. "If this is what she is admittedly hiding, it just makes you wonder…. What else? And why?" she questioned. "Like in a relationship, this is kind of a red flag."
This election cycle, Patrick has gained attention as a vocal supporter of former President Donald Trump. She was spotted at several Trump events as he campaigns for re-election.
For the first time, Patrick voted in this election. She cast her vote for Trump. "It’s not something I’m proud of I would say, but it is true," she shared with Fox News Channel’s Jesse Watters.
"I said, ‘Look, if I don’t vote, it doesn’t mean I don’t have an opinion, but I’m not going to tell anyone about it.’ I didn’t have time or energy to really understand politics," she explained. Her perspective shifted when she started following the news more closely.
Patrick also attended America Fest in Phoenix last December, deepening her patriotism. "There were so many great speakers," she reflected. "I love this country. AMFEST, America Fest, I love this country, seems like the place to be."
