West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin told Fox News anchor Bret Baier that Kamala Harris' claim the border is secure is "dead wrong."
Despite massive numbers of migrants surging across the border, Harris told Chuck Todd of NBC that the U.S. southern border is secure.
"The border is secure. But we also have a broken immigration system, in particular over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed," Harris said.

Data from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection shows that from October 2021 through July 2022 there have been nearly 2 million southwest land border encounters.
When pressed on the issue by Todd, Harris said she is "confident" in the security of the border.
"We have a secure border, in that that is a priority for any nation including ours," Harris said.
Senator Joe Manchin called her out claiming her statement is "not accurate" and that "I've been there. It's wrong."
