Caitlin Clark has blocked former NFL player Antonio Brown on social media following weeks of derogatory comments from him. Brown revealed on X that Clark blocked him after naming her "Cracker of the Day." This action came as a result of his continuous offensive remarks.
In March, Brown initially mocked Clark when she set a new NCAA Division 1 basketball scoring record. He congratulated her on X with a GIF of Mel Gibson, which many of Clark's fans found inappropriate. They criticized the post, questioning Brown's legacy and his chances of entering the Hall of Fame.
Despite being blocked, Brown continued to post about Clark on Thursday. His relentless comments persisted even after the social media barrier.
Meanwhile, as Clark joined the Indiana Fever, columnist Gregg Doyel made an awkward comment during her introduction. Clark challenged Doyel on his response, to which he awkwardly replied, appreciating her presence.
Clark explained she often makes a hand gesture to her family after games. Doyel suggested she should start doing it towards him as a way to bond.
In another peculiar interaction, Doyel used dismissive language referring to Clark during a conversation with Fever coach Christie Sides. He later apologized on Wednesday for his strange behavior.
Doyel expressed remorse on X, admitting his comments were clumsy. He apologized and pledged to be more thoughtful in the future, stating his intentions were good despite the awkward execution.
