It is officially a great time to be an American fast food fan. Chicken nugget lovers are currently living in an absolute renaissance across the country. Perdue recently released Six Seven-shaped nuggets while Tyson dropped sports-themed shapes for the World Cup.
These new releases follow a massive wave of over-the-top shapes from last fall. Shoppers saw everything from turkey-shaped chicken nuggets for Thanksgiving to NFL team logos in nugget form.
Many fast food fans still vividly remember the excitement of eating the highly-coveted boot nugget in a McDonald's Happy Meal. However, other consumers remember another childhood shape fondly. Burger King's iconic Crown Nuggets have been a massive source of nostalgia.
These royalty-inspired bites have not been on the Burger King menu since 2011. Fans have missed them dearly and continually begged the company to bring them back.
It seems the burger chain has finally been paying attention to these new nugget innovations. Following the success of its Vampire Nuggets last Halloween, Burger King is officially bringing back the crown.
The company confirmed that Crown Nuggets are returning for a limited time. Social media users immediately praised the brand for finally listening to what everyday Americans actually want.
"BK listening to all the customers and fans now. Hitting it out of the park," one fan wrote on Instagram.
"Burger King you rule," another user said. One diehard fan joked, "My childhood is back."
Each Crayola-themed King Jr. Meal includes a co-branded 4-pack of Crayola crayons and a colorable crown and meal bag.
👑🍗Crown Nuggets will be available at Burger King locations nationwide for a limited-time, while supplies last starting June 2nd.

The returning nuggets will be available nationwide beginning June 2. Customers can order them as an eight-piece meal. They are also an option for the $3.99 King Jr. Meal, which includes one side and a drink.
Burger King is also launching an exclusive Crayola-themed King Jr. Meal on June 9 to celebrate the massive return. Instead of a cheap toy, the meal will include a four-pack of Crayola crayons. It will also feature a crown and a meal bag that children can actually color.
"We've been committed to creating awesome experiences for the whole family and listening to our guests, and bringing back our Crown Nuggets allows us to do both of those things," Joel Yashinsky, Burger King's chief marketing officer, said in a recent press release.
Both the Crown Nuggets and the Crayola-themed King Jr. Meal are only available while supplies last. Families will need to act fast to secure this nostalgic piece of American fast food history.
