U2’s bonehead frontman Bono is kissing the ground that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are walking on, saying that today was a “history making, history-shaping achievement.”
He also laid into President Donald Trump, claiming that “Lady Liberty’s been bruised and battered these past four years.
So basically he is comparing Lady Liberty to a woman in an abusive relationship with Donald Trump? Really? Because all I saw for the last four years was a man who puts his country first. He opened her doors and waited on her hand and foot. He sent her to the spa and bought her a new wardrobe.
“As an Irishman, I’ve always believed America isn’t just a country, it’s an idea … one the whole world has a stake in. Lady Liberty’s been bruised and battered these past four years, but today her flame burns bright as we watch her torch transfer to two new leaders who will calm the waters, even while they chart a new course,” Bono posted to Facebook on Wednesday.
“Joe Biden understands that in perilous times like these it is Yeats’ concept of cold passion that’s required … an idea both very Irish, and very American. Congratulations and Godspeed to President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, whose history making, history-shaping achievement deserves many more moments in the sun,” he continued.
“And here’s to those conservatives who, when incited to turn your back on democracy, chose to put country above party, truth above tribalism … and accepted that the people have spoken,” Bono added.

Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) suggested during an interview on Monday morning that in vetting the National Guard for potential threats against President-elect Joe Biden, officials should first look for supporters of President Donald Trump within the Guard’s ranks. He also specifically linked their presumed support for Trump to their skin color and gender.
Cohen, who is the chairman of the House Judiciary’s Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, made the remarks during a CNN interview with host Jim Sciutto.
