Bill Maher isn’t worried about Trump winning in 2024. He says he won’t let the election get to him.
On his podcast, "Club Random," Maher talked with Dr. Phil. They discussed illegal immigration, extremism on college campuses, and the country’s polarization. Dr. Phil asked what Maher would do if Trump wins.
"Nothing," Maher replied. "I’ll keep doing my show and making jokes about him."
Maher added that Trump didn’t come after him the first time. "I’m not going to lose sleep over it," he said.
But Maher didn’t rule out the possibility that Trump could imprison critics. "He’s crazy, so he might send people to Guantánamo Bay. But am I going to worry? No, because he’s not going to win," Maher insisted.
Maher had predicted after a debate that Trump’s chances were over. He told Dr. Phil that he wasn’t nervous.
"The polls will be close on Election Day," he said. But he argued that Americans were tired of Trump.
"It’ll be a close race, but I think people have had enough," Maher stated.
Back in March, Maher vowed to do everything he could to stop Trump from winning. At that time, he wasn’t sure if Biden or Trump would win.
"But I’m not going to worry about it constantly," he said.
With the election nearing, recent polls show Trump catching up to Kamala Harris. Harris leads by just two points in an ABC News poll, down from six.
An NBC News poll shows them tied at 48%. Harris had a five-point lead last month.
In another poll, Harris has a slight three-point edge over Trump, also a drop from last month.
