Arnold Schwarzenegger stated that Democrats want to "f--- up every city in America" during a recent appearance on SiriusXM's "Literally! With Rob Lowe".
The conversation was sparked when Lowe, seeking to understand political identities, asked the 76-year-old "Terminator" actor and ex-Republican governor of California about the essence of being a Republican versus being a Democrat.
Lowe began the conversation by focusing on Republicans, referencing former Rep. David Drier, R-Calif., who described the party's principles as "in no particular order, strong military, low taxes, less government, more personal freedoms," and mentioned there was another key principle he'd overlooked.
"Strong law enforcement," was Arnold Schwarzenegger's addition, as highlighted by Mediaite.
Turning the conversation to Democratic ideals, Lowe inquired about Schwarzenegger's perspective on what defines a Democrat.
"Ruin your cities," Schwarzenegger answered. "That’s what the Democrats would say. We are about ruining the cities. We want to f--- up every city in America. That seems to be the theme right now."
Lowe then probed further, asking, "Why is that?"
"I have no idea," he replied.
He went on to say that the present immigration system is "set up to commit a crime," appealing for collaborative efforts across party lines to achieve necessary reforms.
Citing apprehensions specifically related to terrorism and drug cartels, Schwarzenegger expressed his endorsement for enhanced border security.
Having triumphed in a 2003 recall election, Schwarzenegger took office as the 38th governor of California, where he served for an eight-year term.
