So....Alec Baldwin shoots and kills someone due to his own negligence, and now he is using that to push gun control on film sets. Imagine that.
On Saturday, Baldwin told reporters that he is "extremely interested" in limiting the use of guns on for sets.
He said, “I do know that an ongoing effort to limit the use of firearms on film sets is something I’m extremely interested in.”
Most guns on film sets during the last 75 yeas have been shot “mostly without incident," he continued, but “We have to realize that when it does go wrong, and it’s this horrible catastrophic thing, some new measures have to take place.”
Baldwin then suggested that films uses plastic or rubber guns instead.
Hollywood weapons expert Bryan Carpenter blasted Baldwin for Halyna Hutchins' death, pointing out that he completely disregarded the first rule of gun safety, which is to never point a gun at someone or something you do not want to kill or destroy.
“Loaded or unloaded, a weapon never gets pointed at another human being," The New York Post quoted Carpenter. He added that gun safety still needs applied on a movie set where “you never let the muzzle of a weapon cover something you don’t intend to destroy.”
