Airlines Employee Gives Fiery Response After Customer Accuses Him of 'Misgendering'

Tommy Dorfman, a transgender actress known from the show "13 Reasons Why," made a video where she said Delta Airlines workers treated her badly because she is transgender. This video became very popular and caused a lot of discussion online.

In the video, Dorfman explained that at New York City's LaGuardia Airport, some Delta workers, including one named Tristan, kept referring to her with the wrong gender. She felt this was done on purpose many times.

"When you try to advocate for yourself at @delta and are met woth [SIC] even more transpbobia [SIC] and threats of being arrested at LaGuardia [SIC]," Dorfman said in the post, which included the video of part of the incident. "Tristan, the employee, said he was fine with me posting this. didn't realize it was condescending to flag a human rights violation after another employee misgendered me incessantly."

In her video, Dorfman talks to a Delta employee about being called the wrong gender. She asks what happens when a Delta worker does this on purpose. The employee answers back, saying that it wasn't done on purpose.

"You're being condescending," the employee responded to Dorfman in the video. "And if you want to continue, I'll have Port Authority escort you out the building right this moment if you want to play that game with me. Which if you'd like to continue three days before Christmas, I really don't mind."

Delta Air Lines, known for supporting diversity and fairness, is looking into Dorfman's video. They told a news outlet they're talking to Dorfman to find out what happened.

Many people online are supporting Dorfman for standing up for herself. However, there are also a lot of people who don't agree with her and are praising the Delta employee in the video.

A person named Collin Rugg shared Dorfman's video on X. It quickly got very popular, with over 7 million views and thousands of comments in just a few hours.

Another commentator, Amiri King, shared Dorfman's video too, and it got a lot of attention with 6 million views and thousands of comments.

King described the video as a conflict between Dorfman, who he called an "entitled LGBTQ pronoun warrior," and a Delta employee who didn't want to deal with it.

Matthew Zavala, a user on the same platform, thought Dorfman was rude. He said respect should be mutual, and if someone corrects you politely, you should listen. He praised the Delta employee for how they handled it.

Monica Crowley, a podcast host, posted to Delta, saying the employee did a great job and should get a raise and a promotion.

CJ Pearson, another conservative commentator, supported the Delta employee too. He even called the worker "Delta Employee of the year" in his post.
