Amid record-setting shark sightings off the coast of New York, a viral video of a man wrestling a shark in that area has gone viral.
The incident occurred Sunday morning, according to a videographer on Long Island.
During the video between the man and shark, you can hear spectators in the background screaming.
"Holy sh*t," you can hear in the background.
You can see the man pull what has been identified as a sand tiger shark out of the water. According to National Geographic Kids, these sharks only bother people when they are bothered. For some reason, this man felt the need to stir the pot with this sand tiger shark.
Just last month a shark bit a 16-year-old surfer near a Long Island beach. The shark bit him near his right foot.
"As New Yorkers and visitors alike head to our beautiful Long Island beaches to enjoy the summer, our top priority is their safety," New York Governor Kathy Hochul previously warned in a release. "We are taking action to expand patrols for sharks and protect beachgoers from potentially dangerous situations. I encourage all New Yorkers to listen to local authorities and take precautions to help ensure safe and responsible beach trips this summer."
