Former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard denounced the Democratic Party as an "elitist cabal" and has announced she will be leaving it.
Gabbert, who retired from the House of Representatives until retiring in 2021, shared a 30-minute video attacking the Democratic Party. Despite announcing her intentions to leave the Democratic Party, she did not let it be known whether she is joining the Republican Party or another party.
"I can no longer remain in today’s Democratic Party that is now under the complete control of an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by cowardly wokeness, who divide us by racializing every issue & stoke anti-white racism," Gabbard said in a clip of the video shared to Twitter.

She also challenged moderate Democrats to follow her lead.
"I believe in a government that is of the people, by the people and for the people. Unfortunately, today's Democratic Party does not. Instead, it stands for a government that is of, by and for the powerful elite," she continued. "I'm calling on my fellow common sense, independent-minded Democrats to join me in leaving the Democratic Party."
The announcement of her engagement came during Gabbard's first episode of her podcast, "The Tusli Gabbard Show."
