President-elect Trump delivered a fiery Christmas message on Wednesday. He wished a “Merry Christmas” to the “Radical Left Lunatics” and directed sharp words at others. His message included calls for justice and bold claims about his political opponents.
“Merry Christmas to the Radical Left Lunatics,” Trump said on Truth Social. He accused them of obstructing courts and elections. “They know their only chance of survival is getting pardons from a man who has absolutely no idea what he is doing,” he added.
Trump didn’t stop there. He aimed his anger at the 37 prisoners whose death row sentences were commuted by President Biden. “To the 37 most violent criminals... GO TO HELL!” he wrote. Trump emphasized that his administration would “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN” in just 26 days.
President Biden had commuted the sentences of these prisoners to life without parole. In a statement, Biden expressed empathy for the victims’ families. “I grieve for the victims and their families,” he said. However, he reaffirmed his stance against the federal death penalty.
In another post, Trump expanded his Christmas wishes. He addressed “the wonderful soldiers of China” operating the Panama Canal. He criticized the U.S.’s financial investments in the canal without gaining control over it.
Trump also turned his attention to Canada, referring to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau as the “Governor” of the northern neighbor. He suggested that if Canada became the 51st state, taxes would drop and businesses would thrive.
He extended his remarks to Greenland, citing its importance to U.S. national security. “Greenland is needed by the United States,” Trump stated. He claimed the people of Greenland support U.S. involvement there.
