Kid Rock Bashes Michelle Obama for Skipping Important Event

Music legend Kid Rock took a swipe at Michelle Obama for skipping Donald Trump's inauguration, saying she "seems a little angry."

The musician, set to perform at the January 20 event, believes Obama should attend "out of respect for the presidency."

"I’d kindly remind her that when [Barack] Obama was first elected, I didn’t vote for him. But they asked me to play the inauguration, and I went," Rock told "Jesse Watters Primetime." He added that he had a "good time" despite political differences.

"So I’d kindly remind Miss Michelle about that," Rock continued, emphasizing the importance of respecting the presidential process. He pointed to his own attendance at Obama’s inauguration as an example.

Reports suggest Michelle Obama is skipping the event to avoid concealing her distaste for Trump. Sources claim her absence might be an act of resistance or an effort to "save credibility," according to The Hill.

Obama has openly criticized Trump in the past. Before the 2024 election, she accused him at the Democratic National Convention of promoting "ugly misogynistic, racist lies" instead of offering real solutions.

Despite her absence, former Presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton, along with their spouses, are expected to attend Trump’s inauguration.

This will be Michelle Obama's second recent high-profile no-show. She also missed former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral in Washington, D.C., attended by Trump and Barack Obama.

Meanwhile, Kid Rock expressed excitement about the event, calling Trump a "terrific guy." "We need someone smart who can run this country like a business, keep us safe, and make America great again," he said.
