GE Appliances is delivering a massive win for American manufacturing and worker stability. The company announced over $150 million in new contracts awarded to U.S.-based suppliers. This is direct proof that the "America First" strategy is revitalizing our nation's industrial base.
The suppliers, ranging from family-owned businesses to U.S. Steel, span 10 states and cover critical materials. These contracts will support the production of washers and dryers, including plastics, castings, steel, and aluminum. The move will boost GE Appliances' domestic spending on suppliers by a significant 3.3%.
This giant investment comes as GE Appliances moves all its washer and dryer production from communist China back to the U.S. It is investing $490 million to completely retool its sprawling Appliance Park complex in Louisville, Kentucky. The decision aligns perfectly with the current economic climate that rewards companies for manufacturing at home.
The reshoring project will create 800 new, high-quality American jobs. It also expands the dedicated manufacturing space at Appliance Park to an area equivalent to 33 football fields.
Production of these new American-made appliances is slated to begin in early 2027. This shift proves that companies are finding it more profitable and efficient to manufacture close to American consumers, rather than relying on unstable foreign supply chains.
The "Built for America" strategy is driving growth far beyond GE’s own walls. It is supporting American small businesses and ensuring that U.S. workers benefit from every part of the supply chain.
