Bernie Sanders Charging $95 For Tickets to New Book Event: The Book Title Will Make You Shake Your Head

Sen. Bernie Sanders is promoting his new book, “It’s Okay to Be Angry About Capitalism,” through an event with tickets priced up to $95.

Sen. Bernie Sanders' fans can buy tickets for his book promotion event on Ticketmaster, a firm facing recent allegations of anti-competitive behavior. Prices range from $35 to $95 and the event will take place on March 1st at The Anthem in Washington D.C. Higher-priced ticket holders will receive a complimentary copy of Sanders' new book "It's Okay to be Angry About Capitalism," which is sold by Penguin Random House for $28.

The publishing company described Sen. Bernie Sanders' book as "a bold critique of the capitalist system that has favored the wealthy over the working class and a plan for real change." They referred to it as "a progressive takedown of the uber-capitalist status quo."

“Reflecting on our turbulent times, Senator Bernie Sanders takes on the billionaire class and speaks blunt truths about our country’s failure to address the destructive nature of a system that is fueled by uncontrolled greed and rigidly committed to prioritizing corporate profits over the needs of ordinary Americans,” the description of the book states. “Sanders believes that, in the face of these overwhelming challenges, the American people must ask tough questions about the systems that have failed us and demand fundamental economic and political change. This is where the path forward begins.”

Sen. Bernie Sanders is also conducting a book tour, including an event at the BAM Howard Gilman Opera House in New York City, with tickets priced at $40. Penguin Random House has listed additional book tour stops in Charlottesville, VA and Tucson, AZ.

Sanders has faced criticism for his views on wealth accumulation. Despite his criticism of large corporations and billionaires, he has been called a "millionaire with three houses" by former Democratic presidential candidate Mike Bloomberg. This has raised questions about the consistency of his views.

"What a great country we live in. The most well-known socialist is a millionaire with three houses. What did I miss?" Bloomberg quipped. Sanders responded that he owns a house in Washington, a home in Burlington, VT and a "summer camp."

Sanders asserted that Bloomberg's wealth was earned by his workers, while the former NYC mayor countered that Sanders' comments would drive voters towards President Trump due to their extreme nature. "We won't abandon capitalism, it's been tried before in other countries as communism and it failed," Bloomberg stated.

He recently attracted attention for voting against a provision authorized by the Railway Labor Act to stop a nationwide rail strike. On social media, he argued that workers should be given at least 7 paid sick days, given the "record profits" of rail companies. He expressed his intention to "block consideration of the rail legislation" until a roll call vote ensured the benefit for workers.
